Useful Accounting Tips

Simple habits that keep your books in order and spare you surprises

Keep every invoice and document

A document is the evidence behind every figure in your books. Keep sales and purchase invoices, payment receipts and contracts organised by month, on paper or electronically, for the period the law requires.

Separate business and personal accounts

A separate bank account for the business keeps your figures clear and makes returns easier to prepare. Record anything you draw or put in as owner in its own account.

Reconcile the bank every month

Compare the bank statement with your books each month. Regular reconciliation reveals errors and unrecorded transactions early, before they build up.

Watch cash flow, not only profit

A business can be profitable and still run short of cash. Track the receipts and payments expected over the coming weeks, and review the age of customer debts regularly.

Note filing dates early

Tax dates and rules change. Confirm the dates currently in force with the office or the tax authority, keep them in one calendar, and have your data ready well ahead.

Ask before the decision, not after

Changing the legal form, taking on a partner, buying a major asset or signing a long contract all have accounting and tax effects. A short consultation beforehand saves a costly correction afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I request an accounting consultation?
Press the “Request a Consultation” button and fill in the form, or contact us by phone or WhatsApp and we will arrange the nearest appointment for you.
What documents are needed to get started?
The commercial register and tax card, the latest financial statements or trial balance if available, and bank statements for the period concerned.
Do you provide monthly bookkeeping services?
Yes. We provide bookkeeping, monthly reports and periodic returns on a monthly subscription that suits the size of your business.
Is my company’s financial data confidential?
Yes. We keep all data and documents strictly confidential, in line with the rules and ethics of the accounting and auditing profession.
How are your fees determined?
Fees are set after reviewing the scope of work: the nature of the business, the volume of transactions and documents, and the services required and how often. You receive a clear written offer to agree on before work begins.
Can I work with the office remotely?
Many documents and queries can be sent by WhatsApp or e-mail and the work followed up by phone. Some work needs original documents or a visit to the office or to your premises; we make this clear when we agree on the engagement.
How often do we need to meet or follow up?
It depends on the service: bookkeeping and periodic returns need documents handed over regularly (usually monthly), while the annual audit is concentrated around the end of the financial year. We agree a schedule that suits your business from the start.
Where is the office and what are the working hours?
The office is at 444 Mostafa Kamel St., Fleming, Alexandria. Working hours and the map are shown in the “Our Location” section at the bottom of the page; arranging an appointment before visiting is recommended.
